Draft:Nute Gunray (Star Wars)[edit]

I came across Draft:Nute Gunray (Star Wars) at AfC and the article needs some additional sourcing to justify inclusion as an individual page. I'm not really all that interested in doing it myself (mostly because of time constraints due to school), but I figured that I'd be doing the article a disservice if I didn't at least mention it here, in the hopes that there would be someone more interested. Plot expansion of Star Wars: The Clone Wars[edit]

Hello. I was reading over the few separate articles that exist for individual episodes, and decided soe plot expansion would be beneficial. Before I do so, however, I want to ask what is the appropriate ideal amount of text for plot summaries? Also, if it is within the scope of policies and procedures (particularly WP:OR) to be filling in plot summaries with what I've watched. I understand that own personal interjections, or observations are not allowed, but I just want to make sure it's alright before I start doing so. Boomer VialHolla! If you're referring to the 2008 series, it's my opinion that the plot section is already too big. Generally, it's okay to summarize based on what's visibly apparent on screen. But, generally, I'd look at WP:TVPLOT for guidelines, but it's my opinion, especially because there's a separate episode list, that the plot section for that article is already too long and actually needs to be shortened. ~Cheers, TenTonParasol 23:36, 15 March 2017 (UTC)
Well, I meant individual episode articles, such as The Gathering (Star Wars: The Clone Wars). Would the same standard of policies apply, then? Boomer VialHolla! We gonna ball! 00:01, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
Ah, I misunderstood. I would still look at TVPLOT. Since they're only thirty minutes they'll be on the shorter side, a couple of hundred words each, unless it's particularly complex. ~Cheers, TenTonParasol 01:40, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
I've recently binge-watched all six seasons, and it can get that way at points. Especially when multiple lines are followed, and multiple developments in the plot contribute to the overall plot of the episode. Thanks for the help, nonetheless! :) Boomer VialHolla! Source inadvertently lists "sarlacc" and "jedi" as character names -- what to do?[edit]

I'm in a quandry over how to fix the wording of Han (trilobite), which includes the words Other taxa named after Star Wars characters include [...] the trapdoor spider Aptostichus sarlacc, [...] the ant Tetramorium jedi.

I know we don't have to take the source, which includes these in a long list of names taken from fictional "characters", at its word when this is clearly just a mistake, but I really don't want to change it to say something more abstract (and irrelevant to most of the genuine character names listed) like Other taxa named after Star Wars concepts.

What to do?

Hijiri 88 (やや) 06:13, 16 March 2017 (UTC)

Technically a sarlacc and a Jedi are fictional characters, from the perspective that they are invented creatures/people that are depicted in creative works. The term doesn't have to apply solely to named individuals like Luke Skywalker. But I agree that the phrasing in Han (trilobite) feels wrong, so I think it would be fine to clarify with Other taxa named after Star Wars characters and concepts. I wouldn't worry too much about "contradicting" the source, which seems a little self-published to me anyway.— TAnthonyTalk 14:54, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
It's worth noting the source does say the sarlaac is a create and implies Jedi are a group, rather than a singular character in the individual entries. ~Cheers, TenTonParasol 15:09, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
Would a character classify as a concept? I figured concepts are limited to weaponry, flora and fauna, locations, planets, etc. Boomer VialHolla! We gonna ball! 03:04, 17 March 2017 (UTC)

Started up two related drafts[edit]

Still feeling a high off Celebration, so I ended up starting two SW drafts: Draft:Bo-Katan Kryze and Draft:Star Wars Forces of Destiny. The latter is in terrible shape right now—it's late and I really shouldn't be starting drafts right now—and it won't build the steam for a standalone until the first episode is released, I reckon, but I wanted to get it started before I lose the motivation. And then to have everything readily available for when a standalone can... stand alone. Seeing that Forces of Destiny is a new series, it's what I'm more interested in building in general, seeing as it's more likely to be generating the most interest out of the two. Just noting it because I'm a firm believer in making people aware that stuff is A Thing™. ~Cheers, TenTonParasol 05:09, 19 April 2017 (UTC)

If that Forces of Destiny article is in terrible shape, I cannot wait to see how awesome it will be when you think it's ready for the public. Yes, it's a stub, but we only know a stub's worth of info at the moment. Frankly, it looks great. oknazevad (talk) 10:44, 19 April 2017 (UTC)

Star Wars: Forces of Destiny[edit]

I've noticed it's been added under TV credits on Ridley's article and Felicity Jones, but I thought it was just a web series. Govvy (talk) 19:48, 6 May 2017 (UTC)

Overhaul of List of changes in Star Wars re-releases[edit]

I've been thinking about doing a revamp for List of changes in Star Wars re-releases for a while because... well, just look a the damn thing. (It has repeated section headings! It's a poster child for WP:FANCRUFT violation! It's almost completely unreferenced! There's no couching of the information in its real-world value!) Anyway, I've finally gotten around to some robust idea of what I have in mind in a draft in my userspace (oldid to current revision). It's not in working order, but that's the idea of it. Though I'm sure it's an improvement, I'm generally unsure if this is the right direction to be going in.

Additionally, I am worried because most of the sources I have are less than five years old. Does anyone know of any older sources that would be useful, especially sources contemporaneous with the 1997 release and especially print sources?

Additionally additionally, I'm... admittedly not over well-versed with the changes, because I don't care about them. (Helpful, I guess, when it comes to excising material.) So while I'm sure I could find the most significant changes because they'll be mentioned in third-party sources, it may be of use to know if I've missed any currently not listed on the draft so that I could keep an eye out for sources. ~Cheers, TenTonParasol 20:32, 19 May 2017 (UTC)

After two months, I've implemented much of the major overhaul to the article. It's still under construction, but I believe it is in better shape than before. ~Cheers, TenTonParasol 19:08, 20 July 2017 (UTC)
Hey there, the article looks great! — TAnthonyTalk 19:39, 20 July 2017 (UTC)

Rancho Obi-Wan[edit]

Is this museum notable? I am surprised we don't have an entry for it; we do have one for its founder, Steve Sansweet, but I don't think he is notable - I found [1] and [2] but generally sources mention him in connection to his museum, not the other way around. I think his article should be redirected to the museum one, but as we don't have it... delete it or wait? Or maybe someone can stub the museum, saving us the hard choice in a constructive way? :) --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 06:11, 23 May 2017 (UTC)

Star Wars at GAR[edit]

A GAR was opened up for Star Wars a month ago, and it's starting to garner comments. Lately, the article has been having issues with structure, length, disputes over the best way to summarize the elements. Due to the importance of the article, and some budding disagreement about the best way to address its issues, more eyes would be appreciated. The GAR is at Wikipedia:Good article reassessment/Star Wars/1. ~Cheers, TenTonParasol 19:02, 2 July 2017 (UTC)

Forces of Destiny updates[edit]

Star Wars Forces of Destiny started published, so the article is getting updated. It's gotten some reviews already, so I think it passes notability. Additionally, I've posted a question about the series, asking for clarification on whether or not it's should be termed a multimedia project on the talk page, but it hasn't garnered any responses. Just a small update on the article, and a blip for the discussion, if interested. ~Cheers, TenTonParasol 00:22, 5 July 2017 (UTC)

Discussion of Star Wars split[edit]

There has a discussion about splitting the Star Wars article. The discussion is... a bit all over, but it seems to be meant to be at Talk:Star Wars#Way too big. There has been very few comments regarding the proposal to split, and additional comments would be appreciated. ~Cheers, TenTonParasol 18:00, 16 July 2017 (UTC)

The article is undergoing some discussed splitting and moving of content across articles, though some elements are still under discussion. ~Cheers, TenTonParasol 16:40, 30 July 2017 (UTC)

Star Wars expanded universe rename?[edit]

I've opened discussion at Talk:Star Wars expanded universe#Refine format and possible rename. There have been ongoing discussions about the possible confusion between "Star Wars expanded universe" and "Star Wars Expanded Universe", and a rename may also be in order due to the article's evolved scope.— TAnthonyTalk 17:17, 5 August 2017 (UTC)
