What should our first set of goals be? I nominate:

  • Add a music section to all existing castlevania games pages, perhaps a track list?
  • Add a timeline to the main castlevania page, or as an alternative, make a separate page.
  • Add designer(s) to all existing castlevania games pages.(producer, director, lead designer, Et cetera...)

A temporary page is fine, but this one would really be helped if the page had a more clearly defined scope, set of goals, and so on, particularly as we already have Wikipedia:WikiProject Dungeons & Dragons, Wikipedia:WikiProject Dragonlance, Wikipedia:WikiProject Forgotten Realms, and Wikipedia:WikiProject Greyhawk. You might look at some of those pages for a way to make the existing, shall we say, unimpressive? page one that is more likely to gather responses. Also, once you've done that, you might read the project guide and follow some of the recommendations there for how to increase support from the existing wikipedia community. --John Carter 20:18, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

Switch to a VG task force?

WikiProject Video games is looking to clean up both inactive and limited-scope WikiProjects dealing with video games and move these into task forces of WikiProject Video games, as outlined at Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Inactive project cleanup. This message is being posted to this project to first see if this project is currently active, and if there is consensus to move this project into a task force. We ask that if this project is still active, that you determine as a project if this project should remain separate from WikiProject Video games, and let us know your intentions. Please let us know within the month; those projects that do not respond within that time will be assumed to be inactive and will be cleaned up automatically. This is not a mandatory process; we will not attempt to anything to your project if there is no consensus or consensus against moving it. However, we do urge you to consider if your project needs to remain separate from WikiProject Video games. Please let us know if you have any questions on this. Well, if a task force is able to cover the whole of Castlevania articles, I would be willing to switch, as I am the only member who is active... I feel a properly supported WikiProject would benefit the series better, as it has so many games. It's actually weird; the Halo WikiProject has so many supporter with only three games and a few novels, but the Castlevania WikiProject has about 27 games, years of history, manga, several soundtracks, and is more popular in America that Japan, yet no support from the Wikipedia community. It might be partly my fault; I never knew how or where to gain support for the project. I would like to ask for the chance to get WikiProject working, with your help. If I cannot get it working, I will help the WikiProject become a Task Force, if it would be fine with you. Thank you for your help and suggestions. --Fallen_Reality T/C 02:40, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
Sure, there's no rush. We're mainly consolidating such projects to make the whole editing process easier for editors. As a task force there would no need to worry about standardized style guidelines, peer review, assessment, etc.; most of that would be taken care of by the VG Project, leaving members to focus on editing. Membership could be easier to drum up also. If you're looking for some templates to model other articles on, check out Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow (FA), Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow (FA), and Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin (GA), and Soma Cruz (GA). As far getting more help, it might help to post at WT:VG. (Guyinblack25 talk 04:11, 24 June 2008 (UTC))

Just checking to see how things are going. I know two weeks is not enough time to turn a project around, but just wanted to know if any progress has been made. (Guyinblack25 talk 20:56, 8 July 2008 (UTC))

Well, I'm in the process of moving, so I don't have the time to do the fixes. I'll have more time around the end of August. Sorry about the delay... --Fallen_Reality T/C 06:47, 20 July 2008 (UTC)
Checking in again. It looks like you've been busy with real life for the past month. Given the circumstances, I think it would be better to switch this to a task force. I know I would be able to help out more with a task force than a full blown project. I'm not certain, but I think Sephiroth BCR is in the same situation. Sephiroth is the editor that articles in the Sorrow topic up to their current status, and I got PoR to GA, the list of titles to FL, and helped copy edit the Sorrow articles. I'm sure between the three of us we could get a couple more Castlevania articles up to at least GA. But I'd say the chances are better as a task force. (Guyinblack25 talk 15:36, 21 August 2008 (UTC))
Just checking in again. I figured real life has been keeping you away, so I've been holding off on acting on this project. I plan on switching it to a task force today if I don't hear back from you.
Just an FYI- there are plans to have some kind of membership drives for all the newly formed task forces after the inactive clean up has finished. Hopefully that'll increase participation. (Guyinblack25 talk 14:49, 17 September 2008 (UTC))

Request for comment on Biographies of living people

Hello Wikiproject! Currently there is a discussion which will decide whether wikipedia will delete 49,000 articles about a living person without references, here:

Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Biographies of living people

Since biographies of living people covers so many topics, nearly all wikiproject topics will be effected.

The two opposing positions which have the most support is:

  1. supports the deletion of unreferenced articles about a living person, User:Jehochman
  2. opposes the deletion of unreferenced articles about a living person, except in limited circumstances, User:Collect

Comments are welcome. Keep in mind that by default, editor's comments are hidden. Simply press edit next to the section to add your comment.

Please keep in mind that at this point, it seems that editors support deleting unreferenced article if they are not sourced, so your project may want to pursue the projects below.

Aria of Sorrow TFA May 6th

Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow has been scheduled to go on the main page on May 6th. I've given the article a go over a few times to prepare it for the main page. Would anyone else be willing to look it over to ensure that there are no more outstanding issues? --Harizotoh9 (talk) 19:10, 25 April 2014 (UTC)

Merge this task force

I've proposed a comprehensive cleanup of WP:VG's inactive task forces (which would include merging this task force with some others to form an "action & adventure" task force), if you'll take a look czar  01:58, 6 May 2014 (UTC)
