Editing Middle Ages Topics

Hi, I don't think I am posting in the right place, but I'm new to editing on Wikipedia so please do correct me and help me. I'm currently editing biographies on 2 medieval female figures: Ermentrude of Orléans and Martina (empress) for part of my Masters assignment. I have joined the Wiki Project on Women's History as I have a real interest in gender history and I think I could contribute to the lack of information on Women in the Middle Ages in particular. I was hoping that perhaps a fellow editor could look at these pages and perhaps provide some feedback on the writing, as like I said, I'm new to Wikipedia? Thanks for the help!JuicyLimon (talk) 17:20, 21 October 2019 (UTC)

Request for information on WP1.0 web tool

Hello and greetings from the maintainers of the WP 1.0 Bot! As you may or may not know, we are currently involved in an overhaul of the bot, in order to make it more modern and maintainable. As part of this process, we will be rewriting the web tool that is part of the project. You might have noticed this tool if you click through the links on the project assessment summary tables.

We'd like to collect information on how the current tool is used by....you! How do you yourself and the other maintainers of your project use the web tool? Which of its features do you need? How frequently do you use these features? And what features is the tool missing that would be useful to you? We have collected all of these questions at this Google form where you can leave your response. Walkerma (talk) 04:25, 27 October 2019 (UTC)

Article Review Request

Hello! As part of a school assignment, I have been working on editing an article about Emma Stebbins, an American sculptor. I saw that the article was of interest to this project and I would love some feedback to improve it even more. I have already expanded the article a lot and am planning to add some more images to the page. If any of your members would be interested in checking out, I would really appreciate it. Or if you know a better place to direct this request, I would appreciate that also. Thank you! -NortheasternFoley (talk) 00:37, 11 November 2019 (UTC)

Suggested Edit for Rachel Beer Article

Hi, I have recently read an article on The Guardian website detailing the life of journalist Rachel Beer and I have a suggestion to add to her Wikipedia page.

'Writing in her own column on 25th September 1898, Beer accused the French military of antisemitism and called for a retrial of Captain Dreyfus.'

I have just joined, and am checking through my previous article creations/expansions, to add the project banner where appropriate. I would like to add the banner to the above article, because Franquemont is one of the foremost revivalists of an ancient art/skill (some say 10,000 years old), which is now being practised by thousands of people around the world. However she was born well after 1950. So can anyone please tell me whether she gets a project banner? Thanks. Storye book (talk) 14:27, 20 February 2020 (UTC)

US Women's History Assignment

I am new to Wikipedia for Education and am incorporating a Wikipedia assignment in my Fall 2020 class. I want to provide a list of potential topics for students to choose from. Since this is a new project, I'd like to have students editing (e.g. expanding stubs) rather than trying to create new entries. But I'm feeling overwhelmed by the number of stubs. Advice for narrowing? HistoryKvinna (talk) 18:56, 28 May 2020 (UTC)

Here's a query using PetScan (which allows searches which intersect by template and category) for American women who are in this wikiproject, ordered by the length of the page. Click 'Do it' to run the query, which will take a few seconds to return results. Ignore the first six or so results which are redirects. The results after that are short stubs which might be good candidates for expansion. Dsp13 (talk) 09:21, 4 July 2020 (UTC)

Improving the article on hysteria?

Hello, a medievalist friend of mine was complaining about the hysteria article, which cites a lot of contemporary medical sources but not a lot of historians, especially not historians of the medieval and early modern period. This is outside my own area of expertise, but I wondered if anyone here would be interested in providing more accurate historical context, especially early historical context, there. ~ oulfis 🌸(talk) 17:57, 29 July 2020 (UTC)

If anyone has any sources, it would be great to add to Antoinette Spaak whose death has just been announced with a view to a WP:RD listing. She was Belgium's first female party leader, and one of its most important female politicians of the last decades of the 20th century. Ipswich lace

Hello Women's History team: I noticed that my new article about Ipswich lace was collected by the project bot. I hope that it might be considered a legit addition to your project. The hundreds of women who did this work were almost forgotten to history, but they do form a special place in the scope of women's work in the US, and in the lace community. This page is v1 now, but we intend to improve it to honor the women and their contributions.

How does one go about adding an accomplishment?

Hello, I am a "newbie" here and appreciate everyone's patience...and if this is not the appropriate arena to ask this question, please accept my apologies. My question is this: How does an accomplishment get listed on this page? My wife, Alissa Wetherbee, became the first (and to date, only) person to logroll across the Mississippi River. She did this on September 26, 2019, and it was documented by independent news agencies. Thank you for any help! Peteza2021 (talk) 17:40, 30 April 2021 (UTC)

Peteza2021 Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, requiring that topics of inclusion demonstrate that they are notable and there are sufficient independent sources to confirm that the topic is not a singular news event. Based upon your question, it appears that the event would not be eligible for inclusion, unless her history includes sufficient events (note multiple events and multiple coverage, not limited to 1 event) to meet criteria under Athlete. Legitimisation of wartime rape

Incredible as it may sound, a Nobel Peace Prize winner is one of the twenty-first century prominent people who has legitimised rape during war (diff). Including pre-XXI-C statements would quite likely make the section too big (in which case a WP:SPLIT would be justified), but other public statements legitimising rape during war during the XXI-C could be added there without making it too big (Putin? Assad?). Boud (talk) 14:45, 21 July 2021 (UTC)
