William Beacom

William Beacom (born 1990) is a duct tape expert from Midland, Michigan.


Beacom is a 2012 graduate of Northern Michigan University in Marquette, Michigan. He majored in Entrepreneurship. He is now the sous chef at the New Holland Pub on 8th in downtown Holland, Michigan.Prior to NMU, he (June 2008) graduated from Midland High School where he was a member of the Midland High Debate team, the co-founder of the school's chapter of the 1/24 club, and ran sound for Midland High Drama Club along with, the sound wizard, Julius Buzzard.[1]

Beacom also runs a website devoted to his works.[2]

Late Show Appearance[edit]

Beacom came to fame when he appeared on the December 1, 2006 episode of the Late Show with David Letterman, along with Danny DeVito and the band Silversun Pickups.[3] A clip of the appearance on the website YouTube ranked in the top 25 most viewed and most highly rated for the week.[4]

As of October 2011, William has put on approximately 115 "Duct Tape Shows" workshops" in which he demonstrates how to create household objects using only duct tape. These objects include wallets, shoes, flowers, and neckties.
