Hingalol or Hingalool (Somali: Xingalool) is a small town in the northern Sanaag region of Somalia.

The toponym Hingalol is derived from the terms Hin (which means "densely" in the Somali language) and Galol (which is the local name for acacia trees).

Hingalol is situated on the Hadeed Plateau of the Sanaag region.[1] A small hamlet, it grew in size in the wake of the civil war.

Local control is disputed between Puntland, Somaliland [2]).

The town is famous for its religious pundits, who are said to descend on the city for its spiritual devotion and religious learning. They come from all over Somalia.

Additionally, there is one hospital, with another in the works.

Hingalol has a number of academic institutions. According to the Puntland Ministry of Education, there are 11 primary schools in the Hingalol District. Among these are Mindhicir, Shibiraale, Carmale and Darul Qur'aan.[3] Secondary schools in the area include Hingalol Secondary.[4]
