Biography
Yuri was born in Goyang, South Korea on December 5, 1989. She auditioned at the SM Casting System and joined the company in 2001 after finishing in second place in the 2001 SM Youth Best Dancer Contest. She then underwent training for 5 years and 11 months before her debut.[citation needed]
Yuri graduated from NeungGok High School in 2008 and is currently attending at Chung-Ang University along with band mate Sooyoung and Big Bang's Seungri.[1]

Solo activities
She appeared in TVXQ's "Beautiful Life" music video and had a small role as a ballerina in Super Junior's first movie, Attack of the Pin-Up Boys.
She also had a small role in a television segment, "The King's Boyfriend", which was part of the 2005–2006 KMTV Super Junior documentary, Super Junior Show. Yuri also played a part in the KBS sitcom Unstoppable Marriage (Korean: 못말리는 결혼), alongside Sooyoung.[citation needed] She and Sooyoung sang the OST for "Working Mom" entitled "Kkok".
Yuri is also the centerpiece of K.Will's music video "Dropping the Tears" (Korean: 눈물이 뚝뚝), and appears in the music video for "JjaRaJaJja" by Joo Hyun-mi and Seohyun (feat. Davichi).[2] Apart from all her solo works, she is currently the co-host of Korean music program Music Core on MBC alongside another Girls' Generation member, Tiffany.
At the end of 2009 Yuri was cast for KBS2 reality show Invincible Youth ("청춘불패") with her fellow member, Sunny. Because of Girls' Generation's international promotions, Yuri will leave the show along with Hyuna and Sunny in June 2010.[3] She also has her own advertisement with Danniel Henney and her fellow member Tiffany and Sooyoung.[4] On April 27, 2010 Yuri along with Tiffany and Sooyoung had a commercial for an upcoming commercial for Biotherm.
In April 2010, she with fellow members Seohyun and Yoona, 2PM members Nichkhun, Taecyeon and Chansung had a commercial for an upcoming CF for Everland's Caribbean Bay.Yuri is pairing up with Nichkhun.[5][6]
