Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. Origin

We always tend to use the name of a country or place as it was know when the individual was born or living there during a specific period. So in the case of Maria Sharapova that is a Socialist Republic, not Russia. The same for Bebe Rexha. When her parents moved Macedonia was not an independent country, but part of Yugoslavia. Ok, Karst, no problem. First, thanks for educating me on something I've already known for a long time. That's called being condescending or patronizing, pick whichever you prefer.

Of course, we wouldn't say "born in Russia" in the case of Maria Sharapova. Thus far you're correct. However, we don't just say "Soviet Union", or "some Socialist Republic from the Soviet Union", but instead very clearly "Russian SFSR". The equivalent of Russian SFSR is Socialist Republic of Macedonia. Indeed, it was part of the greater SFRY, just like the Russian SFSR was part of the Soviet Union. Just like the Ukrainian SSR was part of the Soviet Union. Etc etc. See Maria Sharapova (the very example you yourself mentioned), Mila Kunis, Olga Kurylenko, Anton Yelchin, to name a few.

Also, I would greatly appreciate it if you didn't pretend there wasn't a bigger issue here and that there wasn't another completely unrelated reason why that bit was being removed weekly and that you're completely impartial. Cheers. --—iNkubusse^? 16:49, 19 March 2017 (UTC)

All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
