History Section of tulu language page vandalised by UserUser:C21K[edit]

  • The section is as follows

In an ancient greek text titled the Charition mime(200 B.C.) which contains a play about greek sailors and their adventures in coastal parts of what is present day Indian state of karnataka, the Indian characters are seen speaking a language diffrent from greek.many scholars tried to identify the language.Noted German Indologist Dr. E.Hultzsch claimed that it was some ancient dravidian language that was spoken in those times.Studies conducted by Indian linguist like P.S.Rai[1] identified the language as Tulu. This finding was also affirmed by Central Institute of Indian Languages[2] as also Edith Hall,A research professor at University of London[3]. Also the Halmidi inscriptions makes mentions of the Tuluve people and their culture[4].There is also a Tamil poem written during the Sangam age that makes mention of the tulu land and its people[5].It also widely beleived that the Satyaputra kingdom mentioned in Ashokan edicts as one of the four kingdoms out of his rule is the Alva Kheda/Tulu Nadu region.[6]Attagirl (talk) 14:40, 21 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I saw the category that you put in. Good job I didn't try to put one because I thought it was about snowboarding based on the one internal link. Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 20:18, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Worker's NGOs and other categories[edit]

Hi Adimovk5 -- I've been working on Category:Organizations, eliminating redundancy. I've nominated a category you created (Category:Worker's NGOs) for merger with a larger more comprehensive category (Category:Labor organizations) as part of the Organizations cleanup; discussion is at 12/4 CFD; feel free to join the discussion & share your thoughts. Also I'm working through the NGOs, non-profit organizations, and charities tree; so if you have other ideas or work, your contributions would be greatly appreciated at Wikipedia:WikiProject Organizations where those of us who do work on organizations are collaborating to bring some sense & clarity to the whole thing. Cheers, --Lquilter 00:52, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • I'm going to be merging a lot of these NGOs categories (maybe all or most of them) with the relevant longer-standing and more built-out subject trees. For instance, Category:Science NGOs with Category:Scientific organizations. Hopefully we will then be able to merge the "NGOs" tree generally into "organizations"; organizations are primarily NGOs, and governmental organizations will be their own tree. Hope this makes sense. --Lquilter 01:03, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed merge[edit]

Not sure if any of these are on your watchlist, but it has been proposed that Super Duper Tuesday and Mini-Tuesday be merged into Super Tuesday. --Kralizec! (talk) 03:16, 13 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Clown[edit]

Thanks for your input - a great website. I must ask though, under 'clown' why is the so titled Rebel Clown Army listed? This is a group dedicated to oppose government policy miss-using clown make up (and the title!) and has nothing to do with clowning whatsoever. --User:Tom (slapstick) sandow (talk) 12:02, 19 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Category Description[edit]

Hey, thanks for creating the description for the "Non-governmental organizations by region" Category, but a style error you made by placing a space in front of the beginning of each sentence meant it came out

like this

I've corrected it, and its nice to another wikignome like myself who fixes up small things, but i just thought i'd pass that on as something to keep in mind for future edits. thanks! Ironholds (talk) 18:27, 5 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unwarranted deletion attempt of small Canadian foreign policy think-tank[edit]

Hi there,

We need your help: Filemon, a Warsaw-based Neocon activist wants to delete the Wikipedia entry on The Canadian European Council.

It defies logic how a lone amateur Polish contributor with little knowledge of Canada can single-handedly decide to delete a small (yet real and relatively influential) Canadian think-tank.

The Canadian European Council is a real/legitimate think-tank- these guys have published several pieces (some referenced in the Wikipedia entry) in:

- The San Francisco Chronicle: one of the top 5 US newspapers - The Daily Star: the Middle-East’s leading English language newspaper

They’re amongst twelve (only!) Canadian political think-tanks listed in Wikipedia …

Granted they’re not a very large/active organization, but that doesn’t constitute in itself a valid reason for removal.

I suspect Filemon’s desire to remove them stems from his overt dislike of their anti-neocon stance… I hope I’m wrong!

Anyways, I think this entry must be kept: it’s clear, well –written, concise and abides fully by Wikpidedia guidelines.

Please help us in countering Filemon’s abuse.

Cordially,

Hi Adimovk5 - I've taken {{Parthian empire-stub}} straight to WP:SFD - it's not really a stub template at all. Well, it is and it isn't - it's trying to be one, but only by adding one line about being a stub to a widely-used infobox. It certainly isn't anything like what stub templates should be like. Grutness...wha? 23:40, 25 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I got the note about the Parthian Empire-stub also. I don't know what it means, are you wanting to delete it? If so, why? What needs to be done to it? Thank you in advance, Thomas Lessman (talk) 04:27, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
