If you are interested in Ukraine-related themes, you may want to check out the Ukraine Portal, particularly the Portal:Ukraine/New article announcements and Portal:Ukraine/Ukraine-related Wikipedia notice board. The New article announcements board is probably the most important and the most attended one. Please don't forget to anounce there the new articles you create. Adding both boards to your watchlist is probably a good idea.

Finally, in case you are interested, similar boards exist at Russia portal as many editors contribute to topics related to both countries. The respective boards there are: Portal:Russia/New article announcements and Portal:Russia/Russia-related Wikipedia notice board. Of course there are also many other portals at Wikipedia or you may just get right into editing.

IP vandalism[edit]

Regarding your report at Wikipedia:Requests for investigation: IPs change a lot, so unless there is a persistent problem from an IP, nothing can be done about it because in most cases the person who vandalized is long gone to some other IP. Вероятно, Вы уже видели: Википедия:Заявки на арбитраж/Ситуация вокруг статьи "Реактивный ранец" и действия администратора Alex Spade. Надеюсь, заявка будет принята к рассмотрению и рассмотрена в разумные сроки, без обычных проволочек. Мне неприятно видеть написанную мной статью в изуродованном виде. Украина нынче независимое государство, и единственный официальный и государственный язык там - украинский. Да, де-факто в Харькове большинство населения говорит по-русски, но официально это нигде не закреплено.--Reino Helismaa (talk) 20:12, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Это все понятно, однако в связи с тем, что говорят на русском, в связи с тем, что русское название используется и указано на многих (если не на большинстве) карт города и области, эта информация полезна, и я прошу ее не убирать. Традиции Википедии в такой ситуации заключаются в том, чтобы все широко используемые варианты названий могут быть перечислены. Например, обратите внимание на аналогичные случаи с другими языками -- посмотрите статью про озеро Ван: вы найдете вариант названия на курдском... Evgeny (talk) 21:15, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
