St. / Saint

Convention is to use the full name, but if you do want to change it to the short version, first you should place a Template:Db-move tag on St. Cronan's Boys National School, i.e. {{db-move|Saint Cronan's Boys National School}}. This will move the Saint page to the St. one, but will also preserve the page history, which a copy-and-paste move doesn't. --Schcambo (talk) 12:06, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

Google hasn't cached the page yet - meaning the page literally isn't a part of Google's search engine yet because it's so new - so when you search "Saint Cronan's", it's bringing up that old page which was created a few months ago (see the current cache). In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Just a note..

1. The apostrophe must be there: "boys" is not an adjective, and the absense of the apostrophe implies such. That's why we have, for example, Category:Boys' schools in Ireland, Ladies' Gaelic football, Women's Australian rules football, and so on. It's all at WP:MOS if you'd like a long read!
2. If you are moving pages again, see WP:MOVE. Copy-and-paste is not the correct way.
3. You shouldn't create a redirect based on every single possible misspelling of a name; if someone has misspelt it, then the search tool will simply bring up the right page.
