Speedy deletion nomination of of Koola[edit]

A tag has been placed on Koola, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

blatantly fails WP:MADEUP

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. bonadea contributions talk 21:42, 19 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Koola[edit]

The references you added to the article are your own web page and Facebook page; they are not considered reliable sources for the purpose of establishing notability (neither is Urban Dictionary). Unfortunately Wikipedia does not accept articles about new things that people have made up with their friends. ... discospinster talk 22:32, 19 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AfD Nomination: Koola[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but all Wikipedia articles must meet our criteria for inclusion (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Since it does not seem that Koola meets these criteria, an editor has started a discussion about whether this article should be kept or deleted.

Your opinion on whether this article meets the inclusion criteria is welcome. Please contribute to the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Koola. Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them.

Discussions such as these usually last seven days. In the meantime, you are free to edit the content of the article. Please do not remove the "articles for deletion" template (the box at the top). When the discussion has concluded, a neutral third party will consider all comments and decide whether or not to delete the article. Accounting4Taste:talk 22:41, 19 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I am the administrator who removed the speedy deletion tag and its associated "hangon" tag from the article noted above; this was because, although I agree with the individual who quoted the WP:MADEUP policy, this isn't a valid reason for speedy deletion according to our policies. However, as I said, I did agree and so have submitted the article for discussion in an articles for deletion process. Please make any arguments you have with respect to the retention of this article at the linked page (see the tag at the top of the Koola article for instructions).
