Hello Laurie! I wanted to thank you for the many additions you contributed to the Phyllis Brooks page. Your mother was a very beautiful and talented woman. Algabal (talk) 04:28, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

February 2016[edit]

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Unfortunately your most recent edits to Phyllis Brooks have had to be removed as they were without sources and produced errors in referencing. Unfortunately personal knowledge is not accepted by Wikipedia as a wholly reliable source...it is known as original research (WP:OR) and is one of the big "no-nos". Also in view of your close association with the subject, it may be considered that there is a conflict of interest (WP:COI) which probably means you should not edit the page. I would like to suggest that you either go to the article talk-page and make a request there for your desired changes to be made. Or, you could go to the biography project talk-page and make your request there. Another alternative is the help desk. In every case you will need to provide independent evidence to corroborate what you wish to add. The help-desk may be your best option as it is regularly monitored by experienced editors. Thank you and good luck. Regards, Eagleash (talk) 14:52, 28 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Your second set of edits to the page today, are also unsourced and WP:OR, and WP:COI, and produced referencing errors. Your position is understood, but you cannot just add information without verification. That is one of the foundations of Wikipedia. If you continue to act against the conventional way of doing things, someone (not me) will block your account from editing. Please proceed as I have outlined above to avoid such a situation.
