First sentence[edit]

Can I just point out the first sentence makes no sense? "The FIA Formula 2 Championship is a second-tier single-seater racing championship based in the International and organised by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA)." Clcpang (talk) 12:57, 8 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Pirelli Trophy[edit]

At this years F2 and F3 prize-giving ceremony, the Pirelli trophy was for the F2 driver who is best able to handle the Pirelli tyres. It is technically an award, however, nowhere near as honourable as the Anthoine Hubert award. Should it be included in the article? Thoughts? Dh16dh (talk) 12:17, 8 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Tyre Section[edit]

The section on tyres is borderline illegible but I cannot find any recent sources on F2 tyres to edit it accurately - if anyone else can find sources to edit it would be much appreciated! For the most part it is just confusing grammar/wording (e.g. "the different compounds.. as F1" - should this say different to or the same as?) Miffypilled (talk) 13:44, 18 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

For each race Pirelli defines, a Prime tyre and an alternate tyre, picking from 4 different compounds (the suppersoft, soft, medium and hard) depend on the track. In feature race, each driver must use both compounds.
This is similar to F1: in F1 Pirelli picks 3 compounds (from to c1 to c5) and call it Soft, medium and hard, and every driver must use 2 different compounds during the race.
There is some information here, here
FIA F2 website has some info about the current regulations on tyres here
And in "car" you have the current dimensions of the wheels (I don't think having the previous dimensions in the article is worthy).
Just another information: the current contract ends this season and the new will have some minor changes if I'm right. Rpo.castro (talk) 21:18, 18 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
