Collider.com is a film website and Youtube Channel founded by Steve Weintraub in July 2005.[1] It was purchased in January 2015 by Complex Media.[2] In 2012, Weintraub was nominated for a Press Award by the International Cinematographers Guild for his work at Collider.[3] Collider delivers relevant news and occurrences in the entertainment industry both public and behind the scenes. Each individual podcast provides an in-depth analysis and commentary on popular news stories related to the Entertainment Industry. As of October 2016 Collider has 300,000 subscribers and over 220,500,000 cumulative views. Extensions of the channel include, Movie Talk, Nightmares, Heros, Movie Trivia Schmoedown, Collider News, TV Talk, and Jedi Council. [4]

Collider.com was originally founded in 2005, and since has been dedicated to delivering content that is analytical and informative. The style of a collider news broadcast is systematic while each story is addressed with each panel members interpretation. Each episode makes an atempt at being humorous while informing the audience. The panel is hosted by a wide assortment of mediators including Jon Schnepp, John Campea, Kristian Harloff, Jeremy Jhans, Alica Malone, Ahsley Mova, Shinade Defrise, Natasha Marteneze, and Denis Zenhg.

Movie Talk[edit]

The Studio's attitude comes from a combination of different members of the panel, each sharing their perspective on any given topic. These topics include Movie reviews, and open discussions pertaining to upcoming news in the industry. Movie talk is also time shared with Interviews with A-List celebrities. Chris Evans, Harrison Ford, and Ryan Reynolds have all made appereances on the show for brief discussions and Interviews . Each episode of Movie Talk is typically an hour in length, with Mondays episode covering the weekend box office gross and speculation on future ratings. A segment called "Buy or Sell" happens around the half way point in each episode, where the panel discusses whether or not they see certain topics or announcements favorable or not. An episode of Movie talk covers eight different topics in each podcast and the show typically ends with questions from a live audience through a Twitter chatroom. Mail bag is a separate segment of Movie talk where the panel discuss fan mail and questions and insight provided by viewers of the show.

Collider Heros[edit]

Collider Heros follows a similar format to Movie talk The difference is that the news coverage is strictly on Comic book movie news and is hosted by Jon Schnepp. Episodes often revolve around the rivalry between the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the DC Extended Universe and the marketing and advertising strategies of both companies. The advertising practices and marketing themes of different corporations are addressed and predictions are made regarding the future of each studio.

Collider News[edit]

Collider News videos are typically short segments ranging from one to two minutes in length. These short videos discuss changes with Company executives, Celebrity controversy, or filming and production issues on set. These short pieces are uploaded shortly after breaking news occurs. Each short ends with the host asking its viewers their opinion on the story and encourages fans to comment their thoughts and opinions below for further discussion on the next episode of the Movie Talk panels.

Reception[edit]

The Collider News Podcast is received well by viewers with an average rating of 96% across their 4,700 videos. Collier gets about over 100 emails daily on story requests, insights and and questions for the Mail bag segment of the show.
