Sorceress II: The Temptress is a 1997 erotic horror film. It is a sequel to the 1995 film Sorceress.

Plot

[edit]

A brood of women practicing black magic try to lure a man into their sexual escapades in order to steal his soul.

Production

[edit]

The film was written and directed by Richard Styles, unlike its predecessor, which was directed by Jim Wynorski.[1][2] However, it is still credited as "A Jim Wynorski Production" and Wynorski even makes a brief appearance in the film. Actress Julie Strain re-appears in the film, but playing an entirely different character than in the first film. It also reuses Julie Strain’s opening footage from the previous film, where she is performing a magical ritual while wearing a see-through robe.

Despite the title, the story has no connection to the original film.

Release and reception

[edit]

It was first released to overseas markets during 1997 and 1998, and then was released on home video in the United States during 1999. In the United Kingdom, it was titled Legion of Evil: Sorceress II.

The film is less well-known than its predecessor, which has been considered by some as a cult film.[3] AllMovie's Mark Deming awarded the film two out of five stars.[4]
