Needs a plot summary, with identification of characters[edit]

I'm not sure if it's defects in the subtitling, or clues that a Frenchman would get that an average American wouldn't, but I was confused through much of the film as to what the relationships between characters were. Only near the end was the possibility that Marguerite was Solange's stepdaughter confirmed. I still don't know who Henri was, nor who the well-dressed man who escorted Francine to the christening was. MayerG (talk) 02:05, 8 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
