Policies, guidelines, and essays I like

Not including NPOV policy because it goes without saying that all here should edit with that ideal in mind.

  • Wikipedia:Civility policy - Don't let anyone convince you it's unimportant; don't let anyone bait you into being uncivil.
  • Wikipedia:Editing policy - Take away: It's all about collaborative editing.
  • Balance section of NPOV - one of the best, most succinct paragraphs on Wikipedia.
  • Due and undue weight section of NPOV - especially this:

    Undue weight can be given in several ways, including but not limited to the depth of detail, the quantity of text, prominence of placement, the juxtaposition of statements, and the use of imagery.

  • Edit summary dos and don'ts section of the Civility policy - especially the personal stuff.
  • Wikipedia:No personal attacks policy.
  • Wikipedia:Polling is not a substitute for discussion essay - especially "Not-votes".
  • Wikipedia:Writing better articles essay - especially "Lead follows body".
