Question from Kieran375 (22:09, 11 June 2024)[edit]

How did I create a citation? --Kieran375 (talk) 22:09, 11 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Kieran375 Put simply, you put a source between two <ref></ref> tags. So, <ref>Source</ref>. You can find more information at WP:REFBEGIN and ask more questions if you have them. I dream of horses (Hoofprints) (Neigh at me) 22:45, 11 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Druveon (18:10, 12 June 2024)[edit]

Hello! I'm Dru, and I'm a long-time reader and pretty new editor to Wikipedia. I mainly just try and correct small errors as I'm reading. I was recently on the page for the 1992 Aladdin movie, and noticed one of the quotes attributed to Robin Williams did not match what was included in the cited sources. I edited the body paragraph to match the quoted source, but I was reverted by a bot almost immediately (not mad about this part! I know bots help keep Wikipedia running).

I was wondering if you could advise me on the best way to make these edits in the future to avoid vandalism autoreversion. Thank you for your time! --Druveon (talk) 18:10, 12 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies, I just re-read your user page and saw that you're on a Wikibreak, I'm going to ask my question at the Teahouse :) Druveon (talk) 18:29, 12 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Druveon While appreciated, I'm pretty good at responding to talk page messages. I dream of horses (Hoofprints) (Neigh at me) 05:36, 13 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Daniel Plumber (04:22, 13 June 2024)[edit]

Hi sir/madam, How can I import templates from other languages to English Wiki and vice versa? --Daniel Plumber (talk) 04:22, 13 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Daniel Plumber The English Wikipedia has almost all the templates it needs. You should probably go ahead and edit Wikipedia for a bit before creating a template, anyways.
If you are determined to translate templates in spite of my caution, Help:Template reads:

To create a template, choose an appropriate name, navigate to that page, then click the "Edit" tab or create a new page as needed.
Templates are normally placed in the template namespace, though you can place a template intended for your own personal use or for experimentation in your own user space.
Before creating a template, do a quick search for existing templates (such as by exploring ) to see if there is already a template that does what you want or a similar template whose code can be copied and modified (or left in place and expanded). Look for generic templates on which the new template can be based; for example, you can create a navbox template easily by creating a brief template that calls the generic Template:Navbox.
There is no hard rule about what name to choose for a template—make it short but reasonably descriptive. If similar templates exist, try to follow a consistent naming pattern. You can rename a template without breaking existing transclusions (what is called breakage) by leaving a redirect to the new template name.

Please read the links in the green backgrounded text above before translating templates. Thank you I dream of horses (Hoofprints) (Neigh at me) 05:47, 13 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Marcellintehe1 on International email (05:43, 13 June 2024)[edit]

What is international email mean? And what is it the email? --Marcellintehe1 (talk) 05:43, 13 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Marcellintehe1 It seems that international email addresses can use non-Latin scripts. I dream of horses (Hoofprints) (Neigh at me) 05:49, 13 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
