Request edit on 4 December 2014[edit]

Hi there, my firm theMIX agency represents RockYou (as listed on their company page http://rockyou.com/about/contact-us/), and we'd like to request a number of edits based on company updates and news not currently reflected in the page. Thank you!

REPLACE Headquarters: Redwood City, California WITH: Headquarters: San Francisco, California

REPLACE Services: Services software applications WITH: Services: Cross-platform media company & casual game operator

REPLACE Type of Site: social networking WITH: Type of Site: Online social entertainment

  • For the above, please go ahead and make these edits to the infobox as non-controversial edits. CorporateM (Talk) 20:21, 18 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

ADD TO Top-Level Description

REPLACE: RockYou is a developer of social games and advertising products for social media. RockYou is involved in the development of social game titles, including Gourmet Ranch and the Zoo World franchise. Their advertising products are claimed to allow brands to interact with players in-game, supposedly "adding value-per-engagement for both brands and users"

WITH: RockYou is an operator of cross-platform social games, focusing on delivering of in-game video advertising. RockYou pioneered development of its Zoo World franchise, and currently owns and operates dozens of cross-platform titles. Their advertising products are claimed to allow brands to interact with players in-game, supposedly "adding value-per-engagement for both brands and users".

  •  Not done "Pioneered" is not neutral, nor is the promotion of its advertising products. CorporateM (Talk) 20:21, 18 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

NOTE TO WIKIPEDIA EDITORS: RockYou no longer develops games themselves, so the current description is inaccurate; the entire business model changed in 2012 to focus on game operation and optimization. RockYou publishes existing games it owns, and operates or runs existing partners’ titles on RockYou’s game network. A better description for its business model is “RockYou is a provider of premium brand video ad content in gaming.”

  • ( Not done "Premium" is also promotional, however I will see if we can do something else to reflect the org's current operations. CorporateM (Talk) 20:21, 18 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

ADD TO History:

In April 2014, RockYou purchased three major Playdom social games from Disney, Gardens of Time, Words of Wonder, and City Girl, and announced it's licensing Army Attack, Crazy Penguin Wars, Millionaire City, and Zombie Lane from Digital Chocolate. The move was [[[said to be]]] part of a larger ad business strategy for RockYou, with the company profitably operating games that are past their peak and running ads within them, similar to what Hulu does with TV reruns.

ADD to Current Social Games:

Army Attack

WITH: RockYou is an operator of multi-platform social games, focused on delivering of in-game video advertising. RockYou currently owns and operates dozens of titles for mobile, Facebook, and the Web.

  •  Not done The second sentence seems un-needed and the first isn't any better than the current article. Can you explain what error/problem you're trying to correct though? CorporateM (Talk) 03:37, 11 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Done I just used the first reference listed (venturebeat). Is the introduction sentence correct? CorporateM (Talk) 03:42, 11 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

"Current social games"?[edit]

It's a defunct company. It has "Current games"?
