Untitled[edit]

Mario Bianchi (Monty Banks) was not born in France but in Cesena, Italy. His birth certificate was registered (as n. 808, year 1897) to the Cesena Registry Office on 18-7-1897, but he was born 3 days before on 15-7-1897.

Banks was not "considered" an enemy alien - he was one. Did he and Fields go to the USA to "ensure his safety"? Safety from what? The Luftwaffe? Actually Fields said it was to prevent him being interned.

Apparently Churchill suggested that they travel to the USA to raise funds, and of course in appeasement-era America he would have been safe from internment. However after 1941 the USA did start interning enemy aliens. Was he interned?Royalcourtier (talk) 05:42, 21 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Stage name derivation[edit]

Mario Bianchi's stage name Monty Banks may have been a play on the word Mountebank a word of Italian derivation which can mean entertainer.RichardBond (talk) 16:35, 24 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry but I think Monty Banks (Mario Bianchi) was not born in France but in Cesena, Italy. Mario Bianchi's birth certificate in fact was registered on 7-18-1897 to the Registry Office of the town hall of Cesena, and the correct day of bith is 7-15-1897 (the child was born on 15 and his father registered him 3 days later).
