Attendance

We are currently citing the most recent NCES attendance data, which is 2017–2018. NCES is the standard attendance ref for US high schools. Don't change the attendance without a reliable source, and certainly don't change it to something that contradicts the cited source. Meters (talk) 21:10, 12 November 2019 (UTC)

Another attempt pointed to a non-NCES source, but was undone since it still claimed to be published by the NCES and it did not support some of the other data that was cited to the ref. Note that the attendance claimed is now different than the many recent unsourced attempts to change it, so obviously the user was not making a change based on the ref. And now the user is being undone (not by me) because he or she is back to changing the data but not the ref. I'm not going to update the attendance with a properly formatted new ref sinc eI think the NCES data is actually preferable.

Athletic claims

I have been unable to verify these unsourced athletic claims. I don't know what the WIAC is with reference to New York high school athletics, and the New York State Public High School Athletic Association does not mention the supposed titles. The NYSPHSAA has been in existence since 1923. We only list the highest possible finishes (usually state championships) and it appears that entries listed are not state titles, even if they were sourced.

Unless someone can explain what's going on, show that these are state titles, and provide reliable sources I will remove everything. Meters (talk) 05:13, 30 December 2020 (UTC)

Since apparently you have no idea about high school sports, all state athletic associations divide the states into regions or sections or conferences/leagues. NYS prior to NYSPHSAA 1923 have county leagues, obviously WIAC= westchester interscholastic athletic conference for a couple of years before section one was implemented. 3. It is certainly not obvious what "WIAC" means. I attempted to look it up and was unable to do so. It is a violation of MOS to use unexplained initialisms.
4. The WIAC mentions span more than 50 years. That is not "a couple of years".
5. "NYS prior to NYSPHSAA 1923 have county leagues" So? There's nothing here about anything prior to 1923. The school wasn't even around then.
6. Since the listed championships are just league championships, they should not be included. As I've pointed out, we only list top level (state) finishes. I will remove them. Meters (talk) 00:32, 5 January 2021 (UTC)

It certainly does, everyone in the state knows that schools started playing in the county leagues before transitioning into sections with NYSPHAA and each sport entered at a different times.

The high school was around before then. This high school is the 3 to be built, the first was built in 1898

Retired school colour

Does anyone want to make an argument for why we should include an unsourced claim in the infobox about what the school colours used to be 50 years ago [1]? Meters (talk) 05:30, 30 December 2020 (UTC)

I'm happy to hear from anyone else who wants to contribute to the discussion. When the IP comes back from his range block he can continue the discussion. It probably would not be a good idea for him to continue to restore the unsourced and contested edits before we reach consensus though. Meters (talk) 01:22, 5 January 2021 (UTC)
