State location in title[edit]

The word Wyoming appears in this article's title, yet the article relates to a range that also lies in Colorado. Why is this page titled in this way? Should I restrict edits to only Wyoming mountains? The infobox currently says that Bridger Peak is the tallest mountain, but that's because the article title references Wyoming. Buck Mountain is the tallest mountain in the range but it's in Colorado. Runner1928 (talk) 03:18, 4 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The word Wyoming is in the title for Disambiguation. There are at least 8 uses of Sierra Madre in WP for mountain ranges. I am confident that this particular article resulted from work editors did on compiling articles on the various mountain ranges in Wyoming, thus the Wyoming disambiguation. I don't know if a similar list exists for Colorado ranges. As far as the range traversing two states, that's pretty common. The origin of the data is primarily from the USGS GEONAMES data which actually doesn't list the range in Colorado. I could not find a "Buck Mountain" in geonames in Colorado nor on the topo map of the Sierra Madre range. Where is it? and what's the source? All that said, discussing Colorado elements in the article is perfectly acceptable as long as they are reliably sourced.--Mike Cline (talk) 10:29, 4 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
