Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP) an autonomous body which was set up by the packaging and allied industries and the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India in 1966 under Societies Registration Act,1860 with the specific objective of improving the packaging standards and excellency in the country. There are permanent campuses of the institute in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chennai and Kakinada SEZ in East Godavari district with 25 acres (10 ha) of land and there is plan to open new campus in Guwahati and Lucknow.[1]

It offers a two-year postgraduate diploma in packaging at Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Kolkata. Testing and packaging facilities are at Ahmedabad and Chennai. It also offers packaging testing facilities, laboratories and consultation for packaging development and improvement.

Admission[edit]

Indian Institute of Packaging conducts the All India Common Entrance Test (IIP-CET) and personal interview every year for the admission process.

Courses[edit]

  • Two-year full time post graduate diploma course in packaging (PGDP) in Mumbai, Kolkata and Ahmedabad Campus.
  • Three-month full time certificate course in packaging (ITC).
  • 18-month correspondence course in packaging (DPC) and many short term certificate courses in Chennai Campus.
  • Master's in packaging (affiliation with JNTUH) in Hyderabad Campus.
  • Bachelor of Science in Packaging Technology & Master of Science in packaging (affiliation with GGSIPU) in Delhi Campus.

College Life[edit]

Every year Institute celebrates `Packfest' in mumbai campus students from all campuses comes and participates in activities like dance, singing, quiz and sports. from time to time every campus has their own extra curricular activities where students involves in activities like celebration of festivals and inter Institute competitions many seminars are also arranged in every campus.

Placement[edit]

This Institute courses are designed according to the demand of packing industry nowadays and always keeps on changing every year The Institute assists 100% placement record every year in indian companies as well as abroad companies are mainly from pharma, FMCG, cosmetics and other sectors.
