Dovetail shuffle[edit]

The article says

Diaconis established that the deck gradually increases in randomness until seven shuffles, then suddenly becomes much more random.

Shouldn't that be "suddenly becomes much less random"? 24.180.187.9 08:41, 21 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No, definitely more random -- that's the point of shuffling a deck of cards, right? 74.96.132.139 16:20, 21 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

vague etymology[edit]

Taken literally, this phrase means that Jordan coined the phrase trail the dovetail shuffle to its lair, but I'm guessing that's not it. So what term did Jordan coin: dovetail shuffle or lair? —Tamfang (talk) 07:01, 1 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

White tiger story -- invented by user 50.66.24.64 ?[edit]

posted by unregistered user 50.66.24.64 in October 16. Seems very questionable, couldn't find source for this 'great' story.
