Dissolution of Village[edit]

If anyone has more information about the fate of the Village of Rosendale I would love to learn about it. I have some hearsay information but as yet haven't laid my hands on actual sources. --otherlleft 14:44, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
This article should be merged with Rosendale (CDP), this distinction between the 2 places is no longer relevant to justify seperate articles and is confusing to the the general population especially those coming to the area. The distinction should be noted in the merged article only. Culturalextreme Dec. 2018

Government[edit]

I disagree with the proposed deletion of most of the content in this section.DavidHobby (talk) 20:06, 4 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

As per WP:BURDEN, it's up to those who want to keep this content to provide appropriate sourcing for it. User-generated genealogical sites do not suffice. Additionally, even if appropriately sourced, this is excessive detail for this article. Nikkimaria (talk) 00:24, 5 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Who says it is excessive detail? It looks to me like it's useful local history. I've looked at other towns, with larger articles, and could go pick on parts of their content and delete it, saying it looks like fluff to me. For example, many towns have lists of famous residents. Who gets to say what's important and what isn't?DavidHobby (talk) 16:21, 5 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
There may well be other town articles that include excessive detail; that's not an argument that this one should. As per USCITIES the section should include a description of the local government, which it does; that guideline does not provide for listing everyone who has ever held those roles.
