Bhubaneswar copyedit[edit]

Dear Zephyrmaten,

I have observed that you are quite interested in editing pages related to Odisha. The Bhubaneswar page currently lies in shambles and need heavy copyedits and information. I would request you, if possible try to edit the article to make it in a proper state. Thanks in advance. Amartyabag TALK2ME 08:48, 2 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hey[edit]

Hi. Couldn't help but notice that you are so obsessed with robin that the 4-5 edits that you have made to Super Commando Dhruva in past couple of years have all pertained to "is largely/loosely based/inspired on/from robin(dick Grayson) of DC/Batman comics." Wondering if that's all you want to tell the world about Dhruva?? Could you make yourself more useful by helping out with "Fictional Character Biography" section. It needs expansion and it seems I'm the only active editor working on this article. Also it could be of help if you could find some citations.Skagrawal4k (talk) 16:47, 29 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

That's because I fail to understand the similarity between Batman and Dhruva, when clearly he is an allusion to and a plagiarized version of Nightwing/Robin. He isn't dark and brooding like batman, neither is he a business tycoon or a son of rich parents; his acrobatic skills, martial art, intellect and indomitable will on the other hand are the streaks of Nightwing/Robin( You need to read the skills of Dick Grayson to understand, what I mean to say.), apart from his obvious origin & background which seems to have been lifted straight from that of Dick Grayson. The Gupta Brothers try to hide this fact to their neck and the fanboys are in a denial, so that they don't get caught with their plagiarism act; and instead try to compare Dhruva to Batman, a totally different character all together. I am a comic book fan and I used to read Raj Comics as well, until I found out these connections 1. RC's Anthony and James O'Barr's The Crow, 2. RC's SCD and DC's Nightwing, 3. RC's Inspector Steel and Robocop, 4. RC's Tiranga and Marvel's Captain America, 5. RC's Parmanu & DC's Atom(Ray Palmer), 6. RC's Fighter Toads & Mirage's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, etc. Ever since then I have despised RC, for making us Indians look like copy trolls. Zephyrmaten(talk) 18:34, 29 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

well you forgot Doga is compared to Punisher and Nagraj though a totally different origin is still said to be spiderman of raj comics. But that wasn't my point. I don't deny similarities between Dhruva and Robin. I was just asking whether you could contribute in a better way but considering that you don't read RC anymore, I guess you won't be interested. Fair enough. But in their defence, i think that DC and Marvel universe is so vast, they have left little to imagination for new authors. Whatever anybody comes up with, probably they have already come up with it. Besides, there is always some inspiration involved in a new genesis. Even batman was inspired from Phantom. As far as Comparisons between Dhruva and Batman/robin is concerned, yes robin and Dhruva have same background but the comparison ends there. Robin doesn't talk to animals, doesn't breathe in water and he wears a mask and a cape(so does batman), besides he is a sidekick to another hero, Dhruva is not. So regardless of origin, comparing Dhruva to a sidekick is disparaging. Dhruva's abilities are a lot different from batman too, but still they have similarities too. They don't use firearm. They have a strict moral code of not taking a human life. They both vowed to rid the evil after losing their parents. They are both self made heroes unlike robin who was running off to police and then adopted and trained by another superhero. They are famous for their intellect and will power in their individual universe and perform similar roles in their crossover and multistarrer titles, they both use utility belt. They both have defeated powerful villians as well as heroes(Nagraj and superman). I don't suppose robin has beaten any superhero. Pick any two heroes and they will have some common abilities, background or personality traits. The crux of the matter is that I dont deny that Dhruva's background is similar to robin, but his personality traits and abilities and crime fighting styles are closer to batman than robin. Still you are entitled to your opinion. No problem with that.Skagrawal4k (talk) 10:14, 30 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well in case you weren't aware the current Robin is Damian Wayne, Bruce Wayne's son who shares no similarity with SCD, while Dick Grayson with whom SCD shares origin has been a character called "Nightwing" since 1983, after Jason Todd took over his role."Nightwing" is a hero in his own right and with his own popular comic book title & series named "Nightwing". He isn't Batman's sidekick since 1980s. He is an Independent Hero working in an altogether different city named Bludhaven (Gotham being Batman's area of operation) and yes he has beaten many heroes and criminals; and even took over the mantle of Batman and played his role in the Batman comics for almost 3 years of publication, after Bruce Wayne's death(which later turned out to be staged). Well yeah he can't talk to animals or breathe underwater like SCD, but neither can batman, he doesn't uses firearms and possesses everything that you have mentioned as similarity between batman and SCD. And regarding introduction of SCD in RC, he was a boy wonder introduced to attract the kids, something for which robin was introduced as well, batman being way too dark for kids and Nagraj supposedly being the hero of RC. And it's wrong to state that there is little left to imagination of new authors, have a look at Virgin Comics(Now liquid) from whom RC's Gupta brothers stole the Nagayan Concept as well, Level 10 comics, Vimanika Comics and even Diamond Comics(Chacha, pinky, billoo, raman, shrimati ji and fauladi singh all being original characters), Indrajal's Bahadur(India's first Action comics hero) being an original creation as well, it would be wrong to claim that there is a dearth of idea that leads to being inspired from the works of others. Doga and Punisher's similarity ends with the fact that both show no mercy to their enemies and can kill if they will, Similarly Nagraj & Spiderman's similarity ends with their connection to snake/spider other than that they have no similarity whatsoever, whereas Dhruva has way more similarity with Dick grayson, something comparable to Anthony & crow, steel & robocop, parmanu & atom, etc. Zephyrmaten(talk) 11:04, 1 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

WAM[edit]

Hi Zephyrmaten, thank you for contributing Asian content and joining Asian Month. Chakhi Khuntia currently has the issue tag, please considering to solve it. And if possible, please also considering to expand the article a little bit since the word count(exclude template, reference) is slightly less than 300 words.--AddisWang (talk) 19:37, 2 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I just solved that issue for you. I will mark the article in Asian Month as yes.--AddisWang (talk) 19:38, 2 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks a lot Addiswang! --Zephyrmaten (talk) 11:57, 3 November 2015 (GMT)

Disambiguation link notification for November 3[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Chakhi Khuntia, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Gaya. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Invitation from Wikipedia Asian Month 2016[edit]

Thanks for partipating Wikipedia Asian Month last year, and I hope you enjoy it. Last year, more than 7,000 articles contribute to Wikipedia in 43 languages in Wikipedia Asian Month, making us one of the largest event on Wikipedia. We will organize this event again in upcoming November, and would like to invite you join us again.

This year, we are lowering down the standards that you only need to create 4 (Four) articles to receive a postcard (new design), and articles only need to be more than 3,000 bytes and 300 words. We are also improving our postcard sending process, e.g. making the postcards right now, and collecting the address after the event ends without waiting other languges.

Wikipedians who create the most articles on each Wikipedia will be honored as "Wikipedia Asian Ambassadors". We will send you both digital copy, and a paper copy of the Ambassador certificate.

Thank you for considering! --AddisWang (talk)

Vasudha (1996 film) moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Vasudha (1996 film), does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
