H.G.S. Murthy was an Indian space scientist.[1] He was known as one of the "Seven Pioneers of the Indian Space Programme".[2][3][4] He served as the first Director of the Thumba Equatorial Rocket Launching Station (TERLS) of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).[5][6][7][8][9][10]
