Sylvain Lesné is a neuroscientist and associate professor at the Department of Neuroscience at the University of Minnesota known for research into Alzheimer's disease (AD).[1]

Lesné is the primary author a 2006 Nature paper that is foundational in the prevailing amyloid hypothesis of AD.[1][2] After graduating from the University of Caen Normandy, he was hired by Karen Ashe at the University of Minnesota; she is a co-author with Lesné and others on the 2006 paper that suggested Amyloid beta*56 as a cause of AD.[1] It is the fifth-highest cited paper in Alzheimer's research, with approximately 2,300 other articles citing it.[1]
