Karingana ua Karingana is the second work by the Mozambican writer, José Craveirinha , written in 1963, and published in 1974.[1]

The work intended, to poetically convey the daily lives of Mozambicans, at a time marked by the struggle against colonial occupation. [2]

Karingana ua karingana is the expression used by the ronga when they begin to tell a traditional story. The listeners respond to him karingana!. It corresponds to the expression "once upon a time" .[3][4]
