Dorret I. Boomsma (b. 1957) is a behavioral geneticist and Professor of Biological Psychology at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, The Netherlands. She received several major awards for her work, which concentrates on twins: in 1985 she received the Thompson Award from the Behavior Genetics Association for the best student presentation at the BGA Annual Meeting in State College, PA, USA.[1] In 2001 she received the Spinozapremie from the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research, NWO.[2] She lives in Amsterdam, is married and has one daughter.
