Malaria Journal is an open access academic journal published by BioMed Central started in 2002, focused on the disease malaria and related topics. The publication process for this journal is managed electronically and online, rather than with print.[1] According to published analysis by editor Marcel Hammel, by 2009, Malaria Journal published far more malaria-topic articles (at least double or triple) than other identified journals that published articles on malaria topics, including PLOS One.[2]
