Ameenah Gurib-Fakim (born October 17, 1959) is a Mauritian Biodiversity Scientist. She is the Managing Director of CIDP Research & Innovation. In 2015, she was brought the public's attention after her nomination as the succeeding President of Mauritius, she is expected to be inaugurated as the sixth President on the 1st of June 2015.
