Notocolossus is a genus of lithostrotian titanosaur sauropod from late Cretaceous deposits of Mendoza Province, Argentina, in other words: four-legged herbivores with long necks and bodies. It is one of the largest known dinosaurs, its size estimated from a reconstructed humerus measuring 1.76 metres (5.8 ft), and bones from its back, tail, forelimb, pelvis, and a complete ankle and foot.[1] Its pes shows a compact, homogeneous metatarsus, thought to be adapted for bearing extraordinary weight. It also presents truncated unguals, characteristics unknown in Sauropoda.[2]
It is estimated to have measured between Template:Cconvert in length and weighed more than 132,000 pounds (60,000 kg), as much as 13 elephants.[3]
