Elizabeth Borer is an American born ecologist and is a Professor of Ecology, Evolution and Behavior in the College of Biological Sciences at the University of Minnesota.[1] Since 2007, Borer has led the Nutrient Network[2], a global network linking over 200 environmental scientists working cooperatively to rigorously study the impacts of global changes by replicating experiments at 130 sites in 27 different countries on 6 continents.

Education

Professional Positions

  • 2003-2004 Postdoctoral Fellow, National Center for Ecological Analysis and Synthesis[3]
  • 2004-2009 Assistant Professor, Oregon State University
  • 2009 Associate Professor, Oregon State University
  • 2010-2017 Associate Professor, University of Minnesota
  • 2018-current Professor, University of Minnesota

Research

Elizabeth Borer studies how ecological communities are impacted by large environmental changes such as nitrogen deposition, carbon dioxide emissions, invasive species or extinction of species.

Honors and Awards
