The 1999 Kids' Choice Awards was the 12th annual edition of the awards on May 1, 1999. It was once again held at Pauley Pavilion at UCLA in Los Angeles, California. Britney Spears, TLC, and NSYNC performed live from Orlando, Florida. About 6.2 million children participated in voting. Immediately following the awards was the series premiere of SpongeBob SquarePants, which remains Nickelodeon's longest running animated series.
