3.Luftwaffen-Feld-Division was formed in mid-1942 and attached to Heeresgruppe Mitte.It was transferred to the Heer on 1. November 1943. and named 3.Feld-Division(L).Division was disbanded on 22.January 1944. after suffering heavy losses at Vitebsk.The remnants were absorbed by 4. and 6. Feld-Division(L).
