Opened in April, 1996, Akasaka BLITZ is a so-called music "live-house" in Minato, Tokyo, owned and operated by Tokyo Broadcasting System Television, Inc. Until the opening of Shibuya-AX in 2000, it was the only concert space that in the metropolitan area that could accommodate 1500 people. As part of a redevelopment plan that involved the demolition of several TBS buildings in the area,[1] it was closed down from 2003 until its reopening on March 20, 2008.

Many local acts — including Aucifer, Kiichi Yokoyama, Thee Michelle Gun Elephant, Dir en grey, Bump of Chicken, Dragon Ash, and X JAPAN, to name a few — have used the venue as the final destination of their concert tours.
