The Buffy Fish Owl (Bubo ketupu), also known as the Malay Fish Owl, is a species of owl in the Strigidae family. It was previously placed in Ketupa with the other fish owls, but that group is tentatively included with the eagle-owls in Bubo, until the affiliations of the fish owls and fishing owls can be resolved more precisely. It is found in Brunei, Cambodia, Cocos (Keeling) Islands, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montanes.
