Bundesland (plural Bundesländer) may refer to:

  • States of Austria, the technically and constitutionally correct German language name for the Federal states of Austria. Colloquial usage however gravitates to 'Länder' (which is plural).
  • States of Germany, (literally), and so frequently used for the Federal states of Germany, but strictly speaking, this usage is not correct since the German Constitution, the Grundgesetz, calls an individual state simply a Land (plural Länder). The German name for the entire country is Bundesrepublik Deutschland, which seems to imply "Bundesland" for its units.
