This category is for those games that may be played by a variable number of players, e.g. 2–6, or 3–8, with no or minimal change in the mode of play. Examples include Hearts, Rams and basic Rummy.

This category excludes:

  • Games usually played by a fixed number of players e.g. two-player games, three-player games, four-player games and five-player games which have their own categories.
  • Games that may be played by different numbers of players, but where the mode of play changes resulting in variants for different numbers of players. Examples include Pinochle, Bridge and Whist.
