A technical group in a parliament or legislative assembly is a parliamentary group which does not comprise any single political party's legislators. It is a group of legislators of diverse political views which is considered as a unit for some purposes. These purposes may include rights under parliamentary procedure, allocation of resources, or other provisions which are decided by group rather than by individual. A member of a technical group may identify as independent or nonpartisan, or belong to a political party which does not have enough legislators to be recognised as a group in its own right.
