Communist Party of Germany (in German: Kommunistische Partei Deutschlands) is a name that has been and is being used by several organizations in Germany.
The "Communist Party of Germany" (Kommunistische Partei Deutschlands) is not to be confused with the "German Communist Party" (Deutsche Kommunistische Partei). The latter was formed in 1968, as the former was banned in 1956.
- The original KPD, founded in 1919. It was banned in the West in 1956, and became part of the Socialist Unity Party in the East.
- The Communist Party of Germany (Red Dawn) (KPD), founded in 1968 as Communist Party of Germany/Marxists-Leninists, known as "Kommunistische Partei Deutschlands (Roter Morgen)".
- The Communist Party of Germany (1990) (KPD), founded in 1990, known as "Kommunistische Partei Deutschlands (Rote Fahne)" (Red Flag).
- The Communist Party of Germany (2005) (Bolshevik) (KPD), split from Rote Fahne.
