Darryl McCray, referred to as "Cornbread", is a graffiti artist from Philadelphia, US Starting in 1967, he is regarded as "father of modern graffiti".[1][2] He is also known for writing his name on an elephant at the Philadelphia Zoo and on the side of the Jackson 5's private jet.[3] His initial efforts in graffiti were based upon his love interest for a girl.[4]

McCray is currently a social worker. A documentary titled "Cry of the City Part 1 - The Legend of Cornbread" was released in 2007.[5]
