David Wayne Johnson (born October 24, 1959 in Baltimore, Maryland), is a retired American professional baseball player who was a pitcher in the Major Leagues from 1987–1993. Johnson would play for the Baltimore Orioles, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Detroit Tigers. A Guideposts article titled "Against the Odds" by Dave Johnson appeared in the May, 1990, issue of the magazine (pp 2–5). He currently works as an analyst for MASN.[1] Johnson's son Steve, is currently a pitcher in the minor leagues. He was in the Los Angeles Dodgers organization before being traded to the Orioles as part of the deal for George Sherrill.[1]

He currently resides in Kingsville, Maryland.
