En Avant de Guingamp is a French football club founded in 1912 and based in Guingamp that plays in Ligue 2. This professional team is atypical, playing in a commune of about 8,000 inhabitants, with a stadium of more than 18,000 seats.
A number of high profile players have played for Guingamp including Jean-Pierre Papin, Vincent Candela, Florent Malouda and Didier Drogba. Guingamp play their home matches at Stade du Roudourou which can hold up to 18,040 spectators.
Guingamp are the current holders of the Coupe de France, after becoming only the second team to win the competition from outside Ligue 1.[1] They thus qualified to play in the UEFA Europa League 2009–10 in which their first match was in the play-off round against Hamburger SV of Germany. They lost the match 8-2 on aggregate. (1-5 1st leg at home and 1-3 2nd leg away)
