Pearson eCollege is an on-demand, or software as a service (SaaS), provider of eLearning software and services to secondary and post-secondary learning institutions and is owned by Pearson PLC. eCollege was founded in 1996 as Real Education, the company went public in 1999[3] as eCollege.com (NASDAQ: ECLG) and acquired by Pearson in 2007.

Products and services

eCollege develops and hosts e-Learning software applications and support services for colleges, universities and virtual schools. These institutions use eCollege’s learning management system to deliver and manage online courses for students. Client schools include the University of Colorado Denver, The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, DeVry University, Park University, The Art Institutes, Village Academy, Ashford University and Kaplan University.
