Description
English: Vaikom is a historic city that is called Vaiyaghra Geham and alternatively as Vaiyaghra Puram in Sanskrit texts such as the Purana and Sanalkumara Samhita.

Vaikom is one of eighteen most revered historic Shiva temples in Kerala, a list that includes Ettumanoor Mahadeva temple.

The Vaikom Mahadeva temple too is a circular plan Hindu temple with many square plan mandapa and other structures. It also includes a temple tank visible above (bottom of the cropped photo).
