Summary

Description A high precipitation supercell thunderstorm observed by the National Weather Service's NEXRAD radar station in Buffalo, NY. The supercell thunderstorm itself is visible striking Toronto, Ontario and exhibiting a classic kidney bean shape suggesting the presence of a strong mesocyclone. The higher reflectivity as denoted by the pink coloration indicates the presence of large hail as well as extremely intense rainfall rates likely exceeding several centimeters of liquid per hour. The image was taken at 19:03 UTC and composed by Vaughan Weather (www.vaughanweather.com). For more images and other details visit http://www.vaughanweather.com/temp/19_08_05/index.html
