Summary

Description A 3in/50 (7.6 cm) Mk 33 twin mount on the U.S. aircraft carrier USS Wasp (CVA-18) after her SCB-27A conversion. Wasp had been deployed to the Western Pacific with Air Task Group 1 (ATG-1) aboard from 1 September 1954 to 11 April 1955. She then underwent the SCB-125 modernization in 1955. Two McDonnell F2H-3 Banshee fighters from composite squadron VC-3 Blue Nemesis are visible on the flight deck (the nearer one is BuNo 127538).
