Summary

Description Emblem of 64 Squadron, Royal Air Force. Its motto was "Tenax propositi" - "Firm of purpose". The badge is a scarabee, which is an Egyptian hieroglyphic and represents the squadron's association with Egypt. Following disbanding in 1919 the squadron war reestablished on 1 March 1936 at Heliopolis, Egypt, in response to the Abyssinian Crisis and fought there until being relocated to the UK in 1939. It was finally disbanded on 16 June 1967.

This emblem image could be re-created using vector graphics as an SVG file. This has several advantages; see Commons:Media for cleanup for more information. If an SVG form of this image is available, please upload it and afterwards replace this template with {{vector version available|new image name}}.

It is recommended to name the SVG file “64Sqn RAF badge.svg”—then the template Vector version available (or Vva) does not need the new image name parameter.
